That's really nicely done. I love her dress and the ghost-like figures in the back. The holding hands is well done too and you don't pick up on it right away. =3 Reminds me of my own painting, just from the way the reflection is. ^^

great concept and rendering... I can only hope to paint as cleanly as you someday!

I wish all the dark shading -- especially in the pale clothing, but everywhere, really -- was a slightly different, richer hue, instead of just a lowered luminosity, but otherwise identical, rendering of the base color.

If you work by multiplying a grayscale by a base color, make those grays warm or cool before you multiply them. If you work by dragging the luminosity down on a color picker, shift the hue a little while you're at it.

---

Also, go back and revisit the painting, looking for opportunities for the color of one object to bounce onto and influence the color of its neighbor. Surely that gold would influence the floor, The drees would bounce a lot of light back into the scene. The red hair would bleed a little red onto the face, no?

---

It's quite nice work as it is, but I still think you can push it a bit higher.

This is wonderful work, and do not let anyone say otherwise. The amount of details in the drawing that you have looked into, the minute adjustments that make this peice into a peice carved into a storyline proves the depth of visualisation creativity and talent you have at your disposal. The only thing that I could add to this work would be to richen the hues, as jfrancis mentioned helpfully. it would make the image all teh more eyecatching. love this peice Cris. You are good,:)
love,
Omen

I'm not crazy about the x-ray figures in the back though, but that's just me.

Detailed and very well-crafted--like all your work. Good sense of story, too.

I think jfrancis is commenting on what I would call 'monocromatic shading.' I do agree paintings are richer when values are built with differing hues, but I believe the coloring is part of the anime style you use here.

I would suggest something other than black for the BG (the usual 'neutral grey' argument). Beautiful work as usual!

Beautiful work. I love your detail. The subject is nicely narrated. It fails only in how she is depicted hanging from her entangled wrist. Even though you could say that she is also being supported by the entity in the mirror, it still does not feel that at least some of her weight is being suspended from her wrist. I give it a four but only for what I mentioned. Excellent work.

Others have mentioned the shading so I'll just go "ooh and ahh" on this. Gorgeous anime style.

I agree with the other comments made. I might add that I'm not sure how the ghost-like figures in the background relate to the main subject, though they look superb. Hmm...her hair looks as though it is alive and crawling across the floor away from her body....hehe. I love this picture!
